The Product Operations Engineer (POE) will be part of a product development team, ensuring smooth and fully automated deployment of the product (propagation of code) on our infrastructure. Quality is part of our DNA. Therefore, the POE is responsible for ensuring the quality of the deployment, deployment scripts and tools and more.

Your team is the product team. Each product team at eVision is self-sufficient and self-steering, and consists of every function and role required to achieve their objectives. These include software engineers, QA engineers, product operations engineer(s), product manager(s), subject matter experts and more.

As part of your day-to-day work, you will be designing, developing, and executing automated testing and deployment scripts that are robust, flexible, scalable, and secure, and support the strategic initiatives of our company.

Qualifications
The POE has to maintain good knowledge in web application architecture, cloud-based architecture, automated testing and deployment frameworks. Along with good technical skills, the POE should have a strong desire to learn and understand our business domain, engineering concepts, principles and strategy.

Furthermore, you have:

  • Deep understanding of reliable, repeatable and highly available systems using operational best practices such as Immutable Infrastructure, Infrastructure as code and distributed cross-region systems.
  • Strong knowledge of continuous integration and deployment.
  • Knowledge of concepts of deployment scripting and automation.
  • Good grasp of both technical and functional characteristics of software products, particularly in terms of scalability, performance, usability and quality.
  • Extensive experience with code quality – unit testing, code review, automated testing concepts and defensive coding is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of Selenium, BrowserStack, Nichtwatch.js, Jasmine or alike.
  • The ability to demonstrate experience in delivering products in an Agile environment.

Accountabilities
As Product Manager within eVision, your accountabilities will include (but not be limited to):

  • Delivering input for policies regarding product development, product management and process improvements, based on client needs and market developments
  • Implementing said strategy and policies and ensuring internal compliance
  • From technological and functional point of view, contributing to a vision and strategic direction for the assigned eVision products, within the defined business strategy, and developing a product lifecycle and development plan to implement that vision within the different eVision teams and departments

  • Executing product maintenance activities (e.g. keeping product content / terms and conditions up-to-date), signaling and communicating problems within various products and remarks with internal and external stakeholders towards relevant disciplines.
  • Analysing and monitoring business performance of the product, initiating business performance improvements, calculating the profitability of the assigned products, signaling deviations and translating this into advice for adjustments to the products
  • Ensuring that modifications in product specifications (including rate changes, general terms & conditions, etc.) are implemented and monitoring validity of data communicated in product documentation
  • Transforming technological developments and opportunities into specific innovative ideas, translating viable ideas into proof of concepts, screening and prioritizing these concepts and acquire approval from the CPO
  • Ensuring awareness, transferring product related knowledge and answering specific incoming product related questions for departments within eVision and support other departments in client related processes (e.g. through giving advice in sales processes)

Desired skills and expertise
Your experience, skills and qualifications will ideally include:

  • A relevant education at higher vocational level or a university degree
  • Certification as Software Product Manager (ISPMA), at least on foundation level but preferably on expert level
  • 8 years + work experience in software product management not only in strategy formulation but also in execution
  • Proven track record in managing a portfolio of software products within an internationally operating company
