BP is one of the world’s seven “supermajor” oil and gas companies. It is a British multinational company, headquartered in London, England, whose performance in 2012 made it the world’s sixth-largest oil and gas company, the sixth-largest energy company by market capitalization and the company with the world’s fifth-largest revenue (turnover). It is a vertically integrated company operating in all areas of the oil and gas industry, including exploration and production, refining, distribution and marketing, petrochemicals, power generation and trading. It also has renewable energy interests in biofuels and wind power. BP selected eVision as its global partner for digital Control of Work software across all BP upstream offshore and onshore operations.
Since the first deployment of eVision’s Permit to Work solution, BP has since gone live with an amazing 91 assets across the globe as of mid-2017. eVision’s solution enabled BP to move from thousands of pages of procedures, unconnected processes and lack of Permit to Work awareness, to a fully integrated Control of Work platform accessible on close to 100 sites.
This impressive milestone has paved the way to add to BP’s existing eVision Control of Work deployment. Major innovations such as iP&ID, mobility tools and more enable BP to advance their safety and hands on tool time to levels previously unimaginable.
