What are your accountabilities?

In our Product Engineering team you will find around 70 highly skilled Software-, QA- and DevOps Engineers in a dynamic and fast paced environment. The Director of Engineering oversees our product engineering team. He or she will devise the company’s engineering strategy and ensure that all processes and resources necessary to support its operations and objectives are in place. An excellent Director of Engineering must have a solid engineering background and consistently keep up to date with advancements of the field. Apart from their education and experience, they must have every quality of a leader and a strong strategic and business acumen. The goal is to ensure that the department adds the maximum value to our company so as to facilitate the success of our business. The Director of Engineering reports to the Chief Operating Officer.

Detailed job description:
•    Coordinate Engineering managers and provide guidance to Software-, QA and DevOps Engineers
•    Manage Engineering staff by recruiting, training and coaching employees, communicating job expectations and appraising their performance
•    Design, develop, implement and coordinate systems, policies and procedures to support the implementation of engineering strategies in alignment with company objectives
•    Communicate successfully all concepts and guidelines to the Development team
•    Provide technical advice to software and quality engineers 
•    Oversee engineering operations and evaluate them according to established goals
•    Represent engineering team in product development requirements and creation of schedules and budgets
•    Assist in building relationships with vendors and creating cost-efficient contracts
•    Control budget and provide various reporting to enable eVision’s senior management to lead the organisation in an effective and efficient manner

What are we looking for in you?

-    BSc/BA in computer science, engineering or relevant field

-    10 years’ relevant work experience
-    Proven experience with a managerial role
-    Excellent knowledge of engineering processes
-    Experience working with large software and systems integration companies
-    Knowledge of technological trends to build strategy
